Rebecca
has been studying yoga since 2001. She has developed a passion yoga since that very first class, and has now added teaching to the list of things she enjoys. She finished a Vinyasa style teacher training at Flow Yoga in February 2007, receiving her RYT status. She has been teaching at Edge ever since. Her favorite asanas are inversions, because they are challenging and involve a complete change in perspective to master.
Sabina
discovered the ancient art of yoga in the Pacific Northwest, and since then her yoga path is ever evolving. She studied Hatha Yoga on the island of Bali, Indonesia where she was certified by eclectic and passionate teachers, Ki McGraw and Bob Smith of the Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle. Her path led her to DC where she was drawn to power vinyasa yoga. She completed a 200 hour training in Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga at Down Dog in Georgetown. She is passionate about yoga, and continually seeks to grow as a teacher and student of yoga. She is honored to serve her students and is committed to teaching with safety and body awareness. There are wonderful benefits to a yoga practice, clarity, spacious opening, lightness, free-flowing energy, well-being, flexibility, and strength among many -- she is delighted to share this powerful and healthy practice with you. Om Shanti.
Nikki's
yoga practice began in 2003 on a cold winter
day in Montana. Looking out the window at the wind and snow
she knew that there was no facing the extremities to go
running. Turning to one of her yoga DVDs purchased for just
this type of situation, she was hooked after the first
“class”. Moving back to DC in the summer Nikki began a more
vigorous and regular practice which quickly lead to formal
teacher training at Tranquil Space studio. She completed a
200-hour Yoga certification in April 2005. Since then Nikki
has also completed Baby and Me teacher training and earned a
Pilates certification from the Pilates Institute of
Maryland. Nikki is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga
Alliance and is dedicated to continuing her mind/body
education. Her favorite part of class is when she
leaves…feeling a little bit stronger, a little bit lighter
and a lot happier!!
Sasha-Vanessa
found yoga in 1995 after suffering knee surgery and back pain in a skiing accident. Sasha-Vanessa found daily meditation as a way to find a
tranquil mind and a healthier body image. In 2000, she took
her first yoga teacher training with Bryan Kest. She's come
a long way, completing a 200-hour vinyasa yoga teacher
training with Tranquil Space Yoga in Washington, DC and
another 300-hour samayama yoga teacher training and personal
training certification with CityFitness in Washington, DC.
Her sources of inspiration are her students, Shiva Rea,
Bryan and Johnny Kest, and Baron Baptiste. Her passion for
pilates encouraged her to walk, run and participate in
marathons, half-marathons and ten-mile races pain-free.
She credits her self-practice of yoga and pilates and
teaching (pilates-mat and pilates reformer) classes as her
"saving grace" mentally and physically. She is hopeful to
share her uplifting and happy spirit with all of those who
practice yoga with her and enjoy her classes. Sasha-Vanessa
incorporates meditation, vinyasa yoga and pilates in her
life as a way to maintain balance and peace. For more

Stefanie Tocco-Pilkington,
teaches a Power Vinyasa Flow based on the
Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga method. She has
completed Baron Baptiste’s Level 1 Training
Program, has participated in various trainings
with other Master Baptiste-certified teachers
and continues ongoing studies with Baron
Baptiste.
Stefanie offers a dynamic and empowering
approach by creating a balance between stira
(strength) and sukha (ease and lightness) in her
classes. You can expect to move with breath and
be led with intentionality in order to awaken
your body, mind and spirit, ignite your full
potential and vitality and ultimately experience
what you only imagine is possible for yourself.
In her class, you will twist, balance, open,
stretch, bend, fold and breath and as a result
feel strong and confident, yet clear and open
when you leave!
Stefanie truly believes in the power of this
methodology and embodies it as a full way of
being, on and off the mat. As a result, Stefanie
will support you in discovering your own full
potential by applying the tools of your own
practice off your mat and into your life
Monica Neagoy,
was first exposed to yoga in
the early 1990s, but returned to it in 2005 shortly after
closing LE
NEON
Theatre—which she co-directed with her husband Didier
Rousselet—a highly physical, French-American professional
movement theatre in Rosslsyn, VA. She has practiced yoga
intensively over the past six years and became a Yoga
Alliance certified yoga instructor in 2008. Monica’s sincere
desire is to bring to others—through the practice of
yoga—better health to the body, more focus to the mind and
lasting peace to the spirit. With 20 years of teaching
experience (teaching mathematics teachers), she values
pedagogy—the art and science of teaching. She’s known for
her clear and articulate instructions intended to help
students make the best of their yoga experience—and enjoy
it! She sees a yoga practice as a moving meditation.
Monica’s exposure to many cultures, mastery of several
languages, professional involvement in both the arts
(theatre) and the sciences (mathematics), and her growing
knowledge of alternative healing methods and mind-body
medicine provide her with a unique perspective on the
teaching and learning of yoga. (For a peak at her “other
